Huygens

Yesterday marked the 5 year anniversary of the Huygens probe parachuting to the surface of Saturns moon Titan. Huygens spent 7 years attached to the Cassini orbiter before taking a 2 hour 28 minute parachute ride to the surface. It then transmitted to both earth and orbiter for 3 hours and 10 minutes. Pretty amazing since this was mankinds first attempt to land a probe on a body outside the inner solar system. Above is an image that the probe relayed to earth before succumbing to the -179c temperature. I'll also add a link to a page with some more photos and descriptions.
